The Difference Between Crush And True Love

Humans are naturally wired to feel love. It is rare to not feel some form of love. A crush can sometimes be a sign of love when we’re young. Only after we are able to love deeply can we truly grow. Even though we are adults, it is not uncommon to have crushes. How do you distinguish between a crush from true love in the quest for the real thing?

A crush is simply infatuation. This is easy to distinguish from true love, as it’s mostly physical attraction. A crush is an intense admiration of someone you know or have met. It can be intense, leading to the obsession with that person and their thoughts. Crushes are not always the best thing. Unlike true love, they don’t last long in your heart. It is often as brief-lived and intense as it is intense. It does not survive jealousy or long distances. Crushes rarely survive long-term relationships, which is a far cry from true love.

This is why you might meet someone who you had a crush upon after a long period of time.

True love, however, is more intense than a crush, but has a longer shelf life. True love, rather than a crush allows you to see someone as they actually are. These imperfections and flaws aren’t what you should be focusing on. These imperfections can actually make your love for someone stronger. Crushes are unable to withstand the same challenges.

True love, like crushes, tends not to weaken over time. Although it may be less obvious, true love is more intense. It can withstand distance and time, which is why true lovers are faithful even after long periods of absence.

Crushes aren’t that bad, however. They can actually be good for your soul. They open up the possibility of feelings and relationships. Sometimes, crushes even turn into true love.
